Innovative Dialogues and Bold Ideas Take Center Stage at EU Innovation Journey ’25 and EIC Gender Gap in Investments Forum

Warsaw, 12 May 2025 – The vibrant city of Warsaw played host to two landmark events this week: the EU Innovation Journey ’25, organized under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union by the National Centre for Research and

Development (NCBR), and the Gender Gap in Investments forum hosted by the European Innovation Council (EIC). These gatherings brought together thought leaders, policymakers, innovators, and investors to exchange bold ideas and chart a vision for the future of European innovation.

At the EU Innovation Journey, Dr. Lidia Aviles, Founder & CEO of AELSTONE participated in a dynamic fireside chat with Aleksander Szalecki Founder of Stratego, exploring the multifaceted paths of innovation and why divergent journeys often lead to the most groundbreaking outcomes. From extended development cycles to the emergence of game-changing technologies such as quantum computing, nuclear fusion, space innovation, and deep tech, the discussion emphasized the importance of visionary patience in achieving lasting impact.

Later that day, the focus shifted to the Gender Gap in Investments forum, where Dr. Aviles, joined a powerful dialogue on the economic and societal value of increasing women’s representation in leadership and investment. The forum spotlighted women-led funds, female innovators, and success stories that demonstrated how diversity drives profitability and progress. The event served as a compelling call to action for greater inclusivity across the investment landscape.

The two-day experience culminated with the Investor Dinner hosted by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), providing a unique opportunity for high-level networking and future-shaping discussions.

“These events underscore the transformative potential of inclusive, resilient innovation ecosystems,” said Dr. Aviles. “I’m deeply grateful to the organizers, speakers, and fellow changemakers who made this experience both inspiring and unforgettable.”
